I will overwhelm 'serious boxer' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua will face Jake Paul in an eight-round match which will be streamed live on the streaming platform.

British boxer Joshua stated he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "defeat" the American as the pair came face-to-face to build hype for next month's bout.

Former two-time unified title holder Joshua faces YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a massive uneven pairing - at Miami Kaseya Center on 19 December.

Fighter's Mentality

"I plan to injure his face and damage his physique. I aim to demonstrate my superiority," Joshua, 35 years old, said.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's how fighters think.

"I'm going to really want to cause him pain. That's what I want to do."

Respectful Exchange

Despite those words, a relaxed Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - typically known for his dramatics - shared friendly words and kept it respectful with each other.

Jake Paul instead targeted ex Joshua's rival the Cameroonian fighter and called him "not serious" after Ngannou declined a bout proposal.

Targeting Tyson Fury

Anthony Joshua, in the meantime, took aim at UK opponent Tyson Fury - and declined a large bet 'Tyson Fury' says he will place on a Paul victory.

"Jake Paul is superior to Fury - he's actually sitting here," the boxer commented.

"I acknowledge that."

Legitimate Opponent

Despite saying he intends to damage his opponent, Anthony Joshua chose not to comment unfavorably about his opponent's fighting skills.

"Jake is a legitimate boxer," he remarked.

Paul's History

Jake Paul - who initially became famous on the Disney Channel - has mostly fought MMA fighters or past-their-prime fighters since becoming pro.

He lost to Briton Tommy Fury in last year.

Commercial Attraction

Still, the novice remains one of the sport's greatest commercial attractions, regularly earning massive earnings.

Prediction and Belief

The 28 year old predicted a KO victory in rounds four or five and asserted he would stop the long-awaited Joshua–Fury fight, which is allegedly in the works for 2026.

"The next fight will be myself against Tyson Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul declared.

Size Disparity

As Joshua and Paul participated in the usual confrontation, with their physical disparity on show, it emphasized just how unlikely this complete situation is - and how astonishing it is that the bout is really happening.
